Have you ever hiked up a volcano?
The first time I did was when I hiked up Vesuvius. I don't believe I'd ever seen a volcano before. It was a humbling experience looking into the mouth of a volcano.
The walk up wasn't very hard, and the views were incredible. I learned that it erupted itself into existence when it destroyed Pompeii. It apparently used to smolder and smoke more a few years before I visited.
