Have you ever stumbled on something unexpected while exploring?
We were near Bodie Island Lighthouse in North Carolina, and instead of heading straight to the beach there, we explored the sand pathways. At the end of one of those pathways was this little beach with a sandbar. There was no one else in sight.
I took this photo from the sandbar. The tide was coming in, and it was slowly getting swallowed by the water.
But it felt like our own private little beach to explore.
