I recently had a friend ask me to draw a zebra for Ehlers-Danlos awareness. I draw a lot of animals, and I had already drawn a zebra before. But I drew a new zebra, and it got me thinking about how my style has progressed over the years.
I've been a working artist for more than 15 years, but I transitioned to my current style about 3 years ago now. The zebra on the right is from my first few drawings using this technique. The zebra on the left was done in the last few days. I just thought it was interesting to see the progress.
But I think it goes to show that even if we don't realize that we're improving, we are. The more we practice, and build up our muscle memory, the better we inevitably get.
If we learn to live in harmony with nature, then nature will live in harmony with us. One of the best things we can do for the environment is plant a tree native to an area.
